- go through – to finish a process
I haven’t wanted to go through the process of divorcing my husband.
- sign away – to tell something goodbye forever
I’m ready to sign away my marriage.
- change back – revert to the original state
I’m not going to change my name back to my maiden name.
- go back = return
I don’t think I’ll ever go back to my maiden name.
Vocabulary Focus
- bucks = dollars
I need 600 bucks to get my divorce.
- last name = surname
My last name is Ojeda.
- not at all = not in any way
Some women don’t take their husband’s last names at all.
- to prove = to demonstrate with proof
If I want to change my name back, I’ll need to take my divorce papers to the court house to prove why.
- else = more (but not always interchangeable with ELSE)
