I’m Having Leftovers! – English Listening Video with a QUIZ!

Welcome to my world! I’m Jessica Ojeda, an online English teacher who would LOVE to be YOUR online English teacher. I used to teach all the traditional ways like other teachers focusing way too much on grammar and not nearly enough on listening and pronunciation. Well, things have changed now.

You’ve just stumbled upon one of my English Listening Videos where I basically invite you into my life to live and learn English with me. I don’t hold much back and I’m just myself. Sometimes I look rough… Sometimes I look sexy… But I’m me all the time. 🙂 Welcome to my REAL reality English show!

My English Listening Videos aren’t rehearsed, and I’m for sure not reading anything to you off a teleprompter. Can we say BORING? Yes! But I’ve done it! I learned my lesson, and now, I’m a much more effective teacher and hopefully helping you learn English much more efficiently in the process!

While I try to keep you entertained the best I can, please keep in mind, I’m just a girl who lives in the country in the US. So, just like anybody else I’m sure to bore you a time or two. Let me know so I can avoid doing anymore BORING vids in the future. I’m not too concerned with your opinions of me, but I know that if you’re bored, then you’re not learning English. When you watch my videos you should get into the video. You should enjoy the video and it shouldn’t take you TOO MUCH work to understand what’s going on. Just relax and watch. That’s what I say. Don’t stress and definitely don’t try to understand every word! Just watch and let your ears take in English naturally.

There is a process though to watching my English Listening Videos, and it goes like this:

1 – Watch the video with subtitles once. Look up any words or phrases that may have sparked your interest. Try to get a feel of what the video is about.

2 – Watch the video a second time without subtitles (or with them again if you didn’t understand enough the first time). This time focus more on the highlighted vocabulary in the annotation boxes.

3 – Watch the video one last time with NO subtitles. By this time you should understand what the video is about and be able to understand much more than you did the first time you watched it. Congratulations! You’re learning English naturally and having fun doing it!
